You can now generate a QR code on a mobile device that is already connected to a location to quickly connect additional devices to that location
What is it?
A QR code generator on the app lets you quickly get a device connected to Jolt without having to sign in to the Web Portal or enter in your username and password.
Why does it matter?
Connecting devices to Jolt should be simple and easy but sometimes you may not remember your username or password or you may not have easy access to the web portal. Users with permission can now take an existing device to quickly set up an additional one with the QR code generator.
Another use case for this feature is setting up a Jolt Print Station device. Previously the only way to connect the JPS was to sign in with a username and password or key in the 16-character code. With the QR code generator, you can create a code on a mobile device that is already connected to the location (eg. a tablet or phone) and show it to the camera on the JPS workstation to quickly connect it.
How does it work?
On a mobile device that is already connected to Jolt, navigate to Settings > Device Connection QR Code. This will generate a single-use QR code and 16-character string that can be used to connect an additional device to the location.
This method of generating the QR code is the same as on the Web Portal on the Devices page. The QR code generated on the app expires in 24 hours. You must be logged into the app with a user that has the role of device admin, location website admin, content group admin, or company admin permissions to see the new menu option.
