The Jolt app is now available in the Amazon App Store for Windows devices. Microsoft and Android have partnered to make an Android Subsystem for Windows which means you can run the Android version of the Jolt app on a Windows device such as a Surface Pro.
Why does it matter?
While Android and Apple devices dominate the market, some businesses have invested in Microsoft for their industry-grade office and network security capabilities. Now businesses that are committed to Windows devices can run the Jolt app on their devices running Windows 11 or later.
How does it work?
Windows devices with the Android Subsystem and the latest version of the Microsoft app store and the Amazon App Store app can download the Jolt app to their device and run it like any other app on their device. This includes Windows desktops, tablets or phones.
Because the partnership between Microsoft and Android is young and developing there may still be some wrinkles that can be smoothed out. For example, Android apps don’t have access to the Windows file system yet so you will need to find a different camera app to take pictures to be uploaded to lists. Jolt expects this to be a short term hurdle and we have high expectations for the future of the partnership.
