Location setting to control access to the Information Library on personal devices.
What is it?
A setting has been added to govern access to the
Information Library
for users connecting to a location on a personal device. Why does it matter?
More
Jolt
users are connecting to Jolt
on their own device so they don’t have to log into the app every time they use Jolt
. Some Jolt
customers store content in the Information Library
that they do not want to be accessed by employees who are not working. This setting lets a location admin control how users on personal devices can access the Information Library
. How does it work?
A user with
Location Website Admin
permissions or higher can log into the Jolt Web Portal
and navigate to Settings | Locations
and select a location. On the Location Settings
page, there is a panel for Access on Personal Devices
. There are two settings: one for Lists
and the new one for Information Library
. They work the same way:- Allow access- Any user connected to the location on a personal device will be able to view and use theInformation Library.
- Allow access with geofence- Define a geographic area on the map that appears when you select this option and personal devices detected within that boundary will be able to access theInformation Library.
- Do not allow access- Users on personal devices will not be able to access theInformation Library.
If you want all locations to have the same setting, a user with
Company Admin
permissions can navigate to Settings | Company
and see the same Access on Personal Devices
panel to control all locations.
