People who don’t have the
Jolt
app can create a work order by scanning a QR code.
What is it?
New option to create a simple work order by scanning a QR code.
Why does it matter?
Some businesses want people to report issues even when they aren’t regular Jolt users.
How does it work?
One use case is a business who wants customers to be able to report issues with the public restrooms.
If you have a work order type that you want anyone to be able to submit issues for, take the following steps:
Print the QR Code
  1. On the
    Web Portal
    , navigate to
    Lists | Work Orders
    and click on the
    Templates
    tab.
  2. Select the work order template you want to use.
  3. Click on the
    Settings
    tab and scroll down.
  4. Select the location you want to print a QR code for and click the
    Print
    button.
  • Note that if you select multiple locations, you will get a page with a QR code for each location when it prints.

  1. Click
    Print
    to open the browser print dialogue and print the QR code.

Scan the QR Code
  1. Post the printed QR code in a physical location where the people you want to make work orders will see it.
  2. Use any smartphone or mobile device with a camera to scan the QR code.
  3. Tap the link that appears on the camera to open the
    Work Orders
    page for that location.

Submit the work order
  1. Type in the issue
  2. The issue becomes the summary in the work order when it is created
  3. Tap the
    Submit
    button
Revoke the QR code
  • Jolt has implemented some guardrails against the QR code being abused.
  • If you no longer want a QR code to allow work orders to be created, take the following steps:
  1. On the
    Web Portal
    , navigate to
    Lists | Work Orders
    and click on the
    Templates
    tab.
  2. Select the work order template you want to use.
  3. Click on the
    Settings
    tab and scroll down.
  4. Select the location you want to revoke the QR code for
  5. Click the
    Revoke QR Code
    button
