Date Only - For Use By Dates
Michael
Thanks J.P.
That's good feedback about the user experience here.
Can you also help me understand why the employee needs to set the use by date? Does it change from day to day? Just wondering if the use by date can be automated somehow so we could avoid the need for them to put it in altogether

Hi Michael,
Zaxbys requires us to enter the use by date on frozen chicken products when thawing and prepping. They also require the kill date when prepping fresh non-frozen products, i.e. traditional wings. The use by and kill date are mainly used for protein traceability purposes.
The use by date is around 8 months past the packing date. It is not something that can be set automatically due to variation in packaging dates.
My idea to enhance the user experience is to include the option of date input instead of keyboard. The prompt would call a window similar to the attached photos.
I think this idea can be built onto the date entry option. Give the option to scroll the individual sections of “MM”/“DD”/“YYYY” respectively and add the option to remove the time entry.

The best solution I have for this is to create the following. This way the user is prompted with 3 rows with only numerical input for MM/DD/YYYY.

Yes, preferably an option to show an entry date as "MM/DD/YYYY". Then the ability to increase or decrease each section with up and down arrows, or the option to click a section and have a numpad pull up for entry.

Hi J.P.
Thanks for the feedback!
Just want to clarify my understanding here so we can capture this request correctly. It sounds like you are referring to the ability to enter in a date/time when printing, correct? Also, rather than selecting a specific date, you can tap the Interval tab and scroll to 8 months but it sounds like that is tedious and you would rather select months and type in the number 8 vs. swiping to scroll, correct?
