I created labels that contain the prep and expiration dates for my food items. The labels' duration field is set for the number of days before the product expires. All is well if I print the labels and prep the food on the same day; however, I sometimes have a need to print labels days in advance of actually preparing some of the food items.

I created another template that prompts for the future prep date at the time the label is printed which works well. However, the expiration date defaults to the date the label is printed and not the future prep date.

It would be very helpful if an option existed to peg the expiration date to the prep date entered at the time of printing rather than having it default to the actual print date.

While there are workarounds, they create opportunities for human error by my employees. Having this automatic feature would simplify the proces and make it foolproof.
