When using the N/A option within the lists you can allow those items to be automatically submitted as N/A upon submission. To do this, update the list submission settings to "A list can be submitted after all items are completed (Submit)".
Once all required items are completed the submit button will be available to select and all non-required items will be automatically submitted as N/A.

What if they moved the N/A option from in the pencil area and had it display next to the check box for items that are not required? This would help also in that employees would now know which items are not required. Right now the employees can't tell when looking through a list and they don't want to check that something has been done if it hasn't been. This program is about building accountability for staff and when they feel like they have to check off items that are not complete, it is making them do things that are not 100% honest and that's not the habit we want to teach our employees.
