It would be useful if we could utilize the points earned by employees to "get stuff" or "discounts" but in order to keep track we need a way to reduce their earned point balance when they redeem them. Im a little confused of the current purpose of the points?

Thank you for your feedback. I have contacted your account rep regarding your post. We might have a workaround that would work for you. 
You can create a list that has negative points with the prize or item they are wanting to redeem their points for. It would deduct the points from their total monthly/annual points. The list would need to have all items available to mark as N/A so they don't deduct points for items they don't want.
