Approved Time off requests automatically release them from shifts

We would also love it this became an option! Right now, we have people requesting time off but then we have to remember to go in and try to fill that spot in the schedule. It would be some much easier if it was automatically released once it was approved, and then someone else in that role could pick it up.

Time Off Approval Automatically Updates Calendar

As a manager I currently have to go back into the calendar and remove the employee from the schedule after I approve their time off request, which is cumbersome, and re-publish the schedule. Once the time off request is approved it would be nice if that shift was automatically removed from the calendar as well.

I disagree with the way you say this should work, so if there was a feature like this added it should be optional.

Robert: Hello Robert,
Thanks for the feedback here. I would love to know more details on how you manage your schedule and why this would not work for you. When you have an employee request time off during a scheduled shift, what would you like to have happen to that shift?

Michael: The rules at our business are: once you are scheduled for a shift it is then your responsibility to find someone to cover it. I only approve time off requests if they are for a date that the schedule is not posted for yet. If this change was made, I am afraid I would approve a request and accidentally release someone from a shift and then not have a replacement employee.
Michael
Robert: That makes sense, this is very helpful feedback. Thank you.

I agree with Arlene. The fact that as a manager I have to go back in and remove the employee from the schedule after I approve their time off request is cumbersome. Once the time off request is approved it would be nice if that shift was automatically removed/released as well.
