During a discussion with a user regarding Jolt’s time clock and scheduling features, they highlighted a significant limitation in the current time clock reporting system: the inability to view and report total employee hours over a custom date range within the platform.
Currently, users have to export time clock data to Excel and manually calculate hours for terminations, bi-weekly payroll, and other needs outside of the preset pay periods configured in Jolt. This process is time-consuming and prone to errors, particularly when aligning with external payroll systems like ADP that may not follow the exact pay period settings in Jolt.
Request:
Add the ability to generate time clock reports over any custom date range, regardless of pay period settings.
Desired functionality:
In the Time Clock report view, allow the user to:
Select a start date and end date (calendar picker).
Display total hours worked for each employee within the chosen date range.
Optionally include breakdowns by day or by shift, but at minimum provide a summarized total for the range.
Ensure the report output remains exportable (CSV/PDF) with the date range clearly labeled.
Maintain the ability to still use pre-configured pay period reports as the default, but offer this as an additional, flexible option.
